AG188N is a VoIP to Analogue Telephone Adaptor (ATA) with a built-in full functional router. It adapts multi voice control protocols and voice compression codec to directly convert analog voice into IP packet for internet transport, thus effectively using the existing bandwidth to provide PSTN quality voice service.
AG-188N series one port voice gateway supports SIP, and IAX2 protocol, offering one 10/100Mbps Ethernet interface, one FXS port and one lifeline port. AG-188N is small and can be widely used in SOHO, small office and enterprise branches.
Its LAN and WAN ports can be configured as Router or Bridge mode, it provides more flexibility of integration to the customer's network environment. As a fully functional router, the LAN port side functions include NAT enable, Port forwarding, DHCP Server, DMZ, QoS etc. The WAN port support PPPOE, DHCP client and Static mode for connecting to the broadband (ADSL, Cable, Wireless) Modem/Router/Switch.
Compatibility
AG188N supports SIP and IAX2 protocols simultaneously without changing the firmware. It is compatible with various softswitch, SIP servers, IP PBX systems, VoIP gateways and Asterisk VoIP system. It works with Gizmo5 as a bridge to Google Voice which offers free phone calls in north america and low rates to other areas.
Least Cost Call Route
AG188N is designed to register up to two SIP service providers and allows user to sign up with different VSP plans and set up the lease cost call routing in one unit.
Reliability
AG188N allows registering with one redundancy SIP proxy simultaneously, when the primary SIP server is down, the ATA will use secondary SIP Server to maintain the VOIP communication.
Lifeline function
AG188N supports PSTN lifeline function, it means that the handset will automatically connect to PSTN regular phone line when the Power is down.
